 God provides Daniel and his 3 friends as an example of how a faithful follower of God functions in the working world. Daniel stood unmatched in his wisdom and skills as the king’s advisor. Yet his unwavering commitment to the integrity of his relationship with God kept him from defiling himself with the king’s food and drink. Daniel’s integrity came before his loyalty–he served under God first and Nebuchadnezzar second, never confusing the order.

  What will you do? Daniel provides the answer. Commit yourself first to the integrity of your relationship with God, and then demonstrate your loyalty to the position to which he calls you. Don’t confuse the order. Then, let God take care of the rest!
